Projects created with other software can be imported in dxf format. Need of retouching and adjusting lines is minimized thanks to a sophisticated algorithm that optimizes the imported files. Import process is therefore painless. New drawings can be created and modified in the program with the use of simple but effective tools.
With the Frame Composer optional module you can calculate the thermal transmittance of entire complex fenestration (glazed area+frame) or opaque panels.

Calculation

Frame Simulator is powerful and extremely accurate in calculation.
Precise simulation of the heat transfer is performed using two-dimensional numerical method conforming to ISO 10077-2 (finite elements). Computation time is highly reduced through an optimized triangulation routine.
Frame Simulator helps in implementing EN ISO 10077-1 and EN ISO 10077-2 because it automatically adopts all the parameters and the calculation criteria written in the norms.
With Frame Simulator PRO you can calculate the thermal transmittance (Uf) and the linear conductance (Lf2d) of any type of window frame. You can also see how heat flows at any point in the frame section and examine the critical points of heat loss.
The program calculates the dew point for the internal ambient and it shows the areas where there is likely to be surface condensation on the window.
With the Frame Composer module you can calculate the Uw thermal transmittance of entire complex fenestration (glazed area+frame) or opaque panels, based on the Uf values obtained from the Frame Simulator module. Calculation is made according to ISO 10077-1 on rectangular windows, taking in consideration the additional thermal resistance of any existing shutters or curtains. Frame Composer can also be used to calculate the Ug thermal transmittance of the glazing, based on the glass panes and filling gas composition.
The data results and colorful output diagrams can be very effective for publishing in test reports, offers and commercial documentation.

THERMAL QUANTITIES
Frame Simulator allows to calculate thermal quantities as defined by European standards:

  • Uf Frame thermal transmittance in W/(m2K)
  • Ug Glazing thermal transmittance in W/(m2K) – with Frame Composer module
  • Uw Window thermal transmittance in W/(m2K)
  • Lf2d Linear thermal conduttance in W/(mK)
  • Heat flow rate density in W/m2
  • Dew point temperature in °C

COLOR GRADIENT DISPLAY

  • Temperature: data value and color gradient at any point in the section
  • Isotherm: number of lines can be freely set
  • Flow: heat flow rate value and color gradient at any point in the section
  • Flow Pattern: color gradient lines with heat flow direction
  • Edge: thermal resistance values of internal/external borders
  • Areas: thermal conductivity of the areas, according to the norm interpretation, in color pattern and value
  • Triangulation mesh: display of the triangulation mesh used for the calculation (black/white)
  • Condensation: dew-point, isotherm and areas where condensation can occur on internal window surface

Content

PRO version is full-optional and can be used for the analysis of complex sections, which can be automatically imported from external drawings via .dxf files.
This version includes two separate program modules:
Frame Simulator module: for the thermal analysis of frame sections and calculation of the frame thermal transmittance (Uf).
Frame Composer module: for the calculation of the thermal transmittance value for glazing (Ug) and windows (Uw).

Frame Simulator is available in English, Polish and Italian.You can choose the preferred language inside the program.
Frame Simulator is available in the following versions:
  • LOCAL : for single computer.
  • SERVER monouser: software is accessible from any point in the network, but can be used by one only user at time.
  • SERVER multiuser: for multiple simultaneous access from your network.
  • ACADEMIC:license for educational establishments
INSTALLATION
Electronic delivery: You download the software directly from our servers. We do not deliver disks.

ACTIVATION
You can choose among two activation methods.

Activation with Software Key (included in the price)
1) When you start the program the first time in your computer you’ll see a 8 digits code: copy&paste this code in a mail and send it to us.
2) We return you a mail with the activation code: copy&paste this code in your computer and software is activated in your computer.
3) Activation is computer-related: if you need to run the software in another hardware you can transfer the license to another computer via internet.

Activation with Hardware Key USB (optional – extracost €130,00 delivery included )
1) If you choose this option you will receive through express carrier a pre-activated USB key.
2) Activation is Key-related: digit the secret PIN code that we have mailed you separately and you can run the program on any computer by moving the hardware key.

UPDATES
Updates are available free of charge on our website www.dartwin.it. User will be informed via mail when an important update is released.

NEW VERSIONS
Upgrade to new versions, with important and substantial modification of the software, will be offered at a special price to the existing users.

Support for installation and start-up, if required, is included with any purchased software via remote connection.
