This package enables the thermal analysis of any building element, both masonry structures and windows and doors, in compliance with relevant regulations.

Thermal analysis of window/wall installation joint
The window installation joint is also a boundary zone between two standards: EN ISO 10077-2 for windows and EN 10211 for wall sections. The two standards provide different methods for calculating cavities and assigning surface resistances. Furthermore, for an accurate calculation of the linear thermal transmittance Ψ of the thermal bridge between window and structure, it is necessary to know the actual frame thermal transmittance Uf and glass thermal transmittance Ug, shown in the section to be calculated.
With both programs available, the window calculation functions are also available within Mold Simulator. When analyzing a wall joint with window, it will therefore be possible to:

  • calculate the cavities of the installation joint (masonry, subframe, jambs, sill) according to ISO 6946 standard and those of the frame according to ISO 1077-2
  • Apply the increased surface resistance on the inner contour of the window frame, as required by ISO 10077-2
  • Use the insulating glass library and calculation functions to obtain accurate Ug and surface temperature values at the glass/frame edge

 

Mold PRO

is a two- or three-dimensional finite element (fem) modeler intended for calculating thermal bridges and the risk of surface and interstitial condensation in walls, floors, roofs, and other building structures.

With Mold Simulator PRO, it is possible to perform thermal analysis of building structures and calculate the PSI value of thermal bridges.

In addition to calculating heat fluxes, the program automatically runs two other simulations with the parameters of ISO 13788: one for checking condensation risk and one for evaluating mold formation.

With Mold Simulator PRO also you can do Glaser analysis anywhere in the structure, view drawings in 3D, and customize views of results and report printouts.

 

Frame Simulator

Frame Simulator is a professional tool that enables a complete thermal analysis of a window frame or curtain wall module in a short time.

The program is very easy to install and can be used even if you do not have great computer or thermal skills. Drawings in DXF format can be imported into Frame Simulator, and it really only takes a few minutes to go from drawing to final result. The thermal calculation is fast and the results are immediately interpretable with very effective and realistic images and graphs.

In addition to obtaining the Uf transmittance value and PSI linear transmittance value of the spacer, with Frame Simulator it is possible to see the trend of heat flow at each point of the section and identify the most critical areas where to intervene.
The program also clearly indicates the possibility of condensation on the internal surfaces of the frame.

With the Frame Composer module, supplied with the program, you can calculate the Uw thermal transmittance of complete rectangular window frames (frames + glazing), from the simple single-sash window to complex combinations with many sashes, with internal blinds and shutters or external shutters. It is also possible to assess the thermal resistance contribution made by shutters.

  • Mold PRO (2D or 3D) for thermal bridge calculation and condensation and mold risk assessment
  • Frame Simulator for finite element analysis of window frame section and calculation of Uf thermal transmittance of window frame
  • Frame Composer for calculating the Uw transmittance of the entire window frame, Ucw of curtain walls, Ug of glazing, and the additional resistance of shutters

 

VALIDATION
Mold Simulator is validated according to UNI EN ISO 10211:2018 standard (thermal bridges in building construction – detailed calculations).
Frame Simulator is validated according to the new UNI EN ISO 10077-2:2025 standard (calculation of thermal transmittance – numerical method for frames).
