This package allows for the thermal analysis of any building element, both wall structures and frames, in compliance with the relevant standards.

Thermal analysis of the frame/wall joint
The frame installation joint is also a boundary area between two standards: EN ISO 10077-2 for the frame and EN 10211 for the wall part. The two standards provide different methods for calculating cavities and assigning surface resistances. Furthermore, for an accurate calculation of the linear transmittance Ψ of the thermal bridge between frame and structure, it is necessary to know the actual transmittance Uf of the frame and Ug of the glass, reported in the section to be calculated.
Having both programs, the frame calculation functions are also available within Mold Simulator. When analyzing a wall joint with a frame, it will be possible to:

  • calculate the cavities of the installation joint (masonry, subframe, jambs, sill) according to ISO 6946 and those of the frame according to ISO 1077-2
  • apply the increased surface resistance on the inner contour of the frame, as provided by ISO 10077-2
  • use the library and calculation functions of the insulating glass unit to obtain the precise values of Ug and the surface temperature on the glass/frame edge

 

Mold PRO

is a two-dimensional or three-dimensional finite element modeler (fem) intended for the calculation of thermal bridges and the risk of surface and interstitial condensation of walls, floors, roofs, and other building structures.

With Mold Simulator PRO, it is possible to perform thermal analysis of building structures and calculate the PSI value of thermal bridges.

In addition to calculating thermal flows, the program automatically performs two other simulations with the parameters of ISO 13788: one for checking the risk of condensation and one for assessing mold formation.

With Mold Simulator PRO, you can also perform Glaser analysis at any point in the structure, view drawings in 3D, and customize the views of results and report prints.

 

Frame Simulator

Frame Simulator is a professional tool that allows for a complete thermal analysis of a frame or a curtain wall module in a short time.

The program is very easy to install and can be used even without extensive IT or thermal knowledge. In Frame Simulator, drawings can be imported in DXF format, and it takes just a few minutes to go from drawing to final result. The thermal calculation is fast, and the results are immediately interpretable with highly effective and realistic images and graphs.

In addition to obtaining the Uf transmittance value and the PSI linear transmittance of the spacer, with Frame Simulator, it is possible to see the heat flow trend at every point of the section and identify the most critical areas to intervene.
The program also clearly indicates the possibility of condensation on the internal surfaces of the frame.

With the Frame Composer module, provided with the program, you can calculate the Uw thermal transmittance of complete rectangular frames (frames + glazing), from a simple single-leaf window to complex combinations with many leaves, with internal curtains and external shutters or blinds. It is also possible to evaluate the thermal resistance contribution given by the shading devices.

  • Mold PRO (2D or 3D) for the calculation of thermal bridges and verification of condensation and mold risk
  • Frame Simulator for finite element analysis of the frame section and calculation of the Uf thermal transmittance of frame structures
  • Frame Composer for the calculation of the Uw transmittance of the entire frame, Ucw of curtain walls, Ug of glass, and the additional resistance of shading devices

 

VALIDATION
Mold Simulator is validated according to UNI EN ISO 10211:2018 (thermal bridges in building – detailed calculation).
Frame Simulator is validated according to the new UNI EN ISO 10077-2:2025 (thermal transmittance calculation – numerical method for frames).
